Paris à Noël (Paris at Christmas)
There are so many possibilities to explore in Paris, especially at Christmas. The windows at Galleries Layfayette had something for everyone. From high fashion to stuffed bears the kids really enjoyed viewing the creativity.
While there are always crowds in Paris (it is the most visited city in the world) they came in swarms for Noël. It was a cold day so we made sure everyone had a hat & scarf to keep warm.
The shopping areas have endless entertainment. This is an artist using a brand of make-up to draw a portrait. Who are these advertising promoters anyway?!
Aside from mindless wandering we took in a few cultural sights as well. There was a great deal of walking to cover the territory that we had mapped out. The kids have really learned to walk walk walk. It's still a thrill to walk around and suddenly look out and see the Eiffel Tower in the background. The Rodin Museum was a hit. Spencer gave us his version of "The Thinker" and "The Stinker", we preferred Rodin's version. We also made it to the Musee d'Orsay. The boys did a rapid run around tour while the girls took their time looking at pieces they have read about. Lilly and Clara were especially pleased to see Degas "Tiny Dancer" and VanGough's "Self-Portrait". The Orsay is a wonderful art museum and one we will definitely visit again.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you didn't invite me! And The Tiny Dancer with her real tutu. And Self-Portrait where I almost had a breakdown! And everyone has said that the Rodin gardens are a must. You need to go back in the spring. Maybe I need to come and go with you! And I wish a make-up artist would do a portrait on MY face! Say hi to the kiddos. Tell Spencer I've learned a few new dance moves I'm anxious to share.
fun! i love all the window displays and everything! it looks beautiful!
