Some days it's hard to stay on the straight and narrow road. The honeymoon is over as far as school is concerned. The kids are troopers, but it's hard. Yesterday Olivia came home with a great story. A girl in her class brought a new journal to school. It was sitting on her desk and she was kind of fiddling with it while the substitute teacher (Monsieur Meaney) was lecturing. The teacher stomped over grabbed the book and threw it into the trash can. The girl was scared and had tears, but didn't do anything. During the lunch break two other girls took the book out of the trash and put it into the girls desk. After lunch Monsieur Meaney noticed the book was NOT in the trash can. He stormed over to the girls desk and found the journal. He asked her why she took it out of the trash?! She said she didn't. The teacher then asked the entire class, "Who did this?" Everyone in the entire class raised their hand!!!!! Yeah for children who know how to stand up for the underdog! Our kids have been feeling like underdogs in class, but they are determined to do well. Today was a half day so we started out on a family field-trip. Every place we went to visit was closed (we should have read our guide books). It ended up being a great day. We found cool places like this tree lined road and the kids sang "Piano Man" at the top of their lungs with Billy Joel. Just being together and letting off steam is worth while.

I about cried at the kid story!
I don't understand teachers who shouldn't be teaching.
