We went from one medieval village to the next...Provins is an exceptional town that was built in the 12th century by the counts of Champagne. Even today it is dripping with culture and charm. We walked along the top of the ramparts and enjoyed the blooming rapeseed fields, tilled earth and green grass.

During the spring and summer months they have little shows that reinact scenes from medieval times. We had hoped to get there for the knights in shining armor, but missed it and went to the equestrian show instead. It was a tad bit bizzare as the theme was something for ancient Mongolian tribes. The horse acts were fun though.
It's so neat to walk along the streets here and see the old old architecture that still manages to hold up structures...even if it is a little looped and lopsided. We found this gift shop that was set up in an underground barn from centuries ago - so cool!
Taylor bought us all ice cream cones after a long days walk in the sun. Provins is famous for it's rose flavored sugars, candies and ice cream. Of course we had to try it. I didn't think it was so bad, but Taylor felt like he was eating soap.
Taylor found a cool violin/music stand in one of the stores. He bought it & we were thinking maybe we could fund the rest of our treat money by having the kids sing on the street corners...they were practicing in this shot! Now the big question is how is Taylor planning on getting this music stand home to the USA?

I see there is photographic evidence that Spencer has surpassed you in height, Janet! Matthew was trying to get us to believe he had done the same with me, but he's not quite there yet.
Your travels are marvelous - wish we could visit! We're moving to Washington in August and I'm sure we'll make it to Utah at some point in the fall to see our new niece/nephew. When do you come home???
Fun! I love the music stand, good luck getting it back here! :)
