Montserrat

Our last day in Barcelona was spent enjoying the mountain views of Catalunya. We drove the windy road to the top of Montserrat. Montserrat means serrated rock and that's exactly what the mountains looked like. The views are beautiful. It's always a little risky taking small children to a place like this in Europe. They are not as safety conscious as Americans so protective railings just don't exist. It's one of those enter at your own risk deals.

We visited the church atop the Benedictine retreat at Montserrat. Unfortunately we just missed the famous boys choir performance, but we did get to rub the hand of the Virgin Mary statue for "good luck"!
